Matthew Fox As Kent Taylor
Dennis Quaid As Thomas Barnes
Forest Whitaker As Howard Lewis
Reasons I Saw It:
1. Matthew Fox, A.K.A Jack from LOST; My Favorite Show On Television.
2. The idea of having a traumatic event occur in this case, the president of the United States being shot was a different "vantage point" I had never seen before. So I wanted to see how it would be played out.
3. I sure do enjoy fast moving colorful pictures, it pleases my ADD.
I just got home from seeing vantage point. And I am here to say there was not a dull moment in the entire movie. The entire time I had my eyes glued to the screen, I pissed once but thats beside the point. The way the movie was directed was good but at times the rewind sequences were a little much at times. I mean I just saw what heppened and I GET IT were seeing different perspectives all occuring at the same time. I don't need a 1 minute rewind sequence showing me what I just saw in bits in pieces, backwards. The actors are great, besides Dennis Quait who you could compare to Heratio Cane from CSI Miami in cheesyness. In the end I would give the movie a 6/10 due to its shortness and the movie seemed to be rushing to the end.

Vantage Point is a good action movie, with a great idea, that just isn't that well executed at times. Pretty much it's about eight different points of view of a assassination plot on the president. The movie starts off good, with you being drawn right into the action, but by the end it seems like things are happening just so the movie will end. The acting is iffy. Forest Whitaker is decent and so is Matthew Fox, but Denis Quaid pretty much buries the film in terms of acting. It seems like everything he does is forced and cheesy. All everyone of his lines in the last minutes of the film will have you laughing for hours, and not because they are meant to be funny. The story is probably the best part of the film, until the end. The idea of rewinding time and telling the story from different vantage points is great, and they do a pretty good job of executing it, but by the end of the film it seems like they were just trying to come up with ways to end it. Also there are a lot of little nitpicky mistakes, that if you are one of those people that go to a movie expecting it to be totally realistic, you are going to be having a heartattack. Like when a huge explosion goes off, but everybody is still totally intact. So all in all this movie is good for someone that wants to a okay action movie, with a great idea that is not perfectly executed, but if your expecting something special it's not that movie. I give it a 5.5/10, 10 being the greatest movie ever, 0 being I wanted to gouge my eyes out, and cut my ears off.
